Abstract
A group of engineers and scientists declared the safest way to store the UK's nuclear waste is deep underground. Asserting up to two-thirds of the country's landmass could be suitable for repository sites, the nation's leading nuclear experts, geologists and chemists also claimed technology is not holding back a disposal scheme. The paper examines the options that have kept scientists busy for decades.
