Abstract
Diffusion of several known photosynthesis inhibitors has been studied by following the fluorescence increase of illuminated Chlorella cells. Influx resembles free diffusion and ranges from 2.5 sec to 43.9 sec at concentrations ranging from 1.10 −5 to 5.10 −7 M. Influx curves at the higher concentration approach a straight line and seem to be governed by first-order kinetics. In- and outflux rates are similar, suggesting free diffusion.
