Abstract

The diffuse transmittance and the diffuse reflectance of glass with plane, parallel faces were studied. The method of calculation and some representative data for highly transparent glass are given. One application of these data is in the calculation of the correction factor that must be applied to spectrophotometric measurements of textiles measured behind glass. With the data, it is possible to calculate the reflectance in air of a sample measured behind glass.
