Abstract

In this paper the problem of diffraction of normally incident SH waves by a circular rigid disc situated at the interface of two elastic dissimilar elastic half-spaces is considered. The problem is reduced to the solution of dual integral equations. Approximate solution of dual integral equations has been obtained by reducing the problem to the solution of Fredholm integral equations of the second kind. The solution has been used to calculate dynamic stress intensity factor. Finally, numerical values of stress intensity factor versus wave number are graphed.
