Abstract
Brodie’s abscess, a subtype of subacute osteomyelitis, is very rare, accounting for 2.4% of subacute osteomyelitis. It is caused by a lower virulence organism, so it is not accompanied by systemic symptoms such as fever, and local symptoms appear insidiously. The disease when it is found through radiologic exams, is likely to be confused with bone tumors, resulting in delayed diagnosis and treatment. The authors experienced a brodie abscess of the proximal tibia, which was difficult to diagnose due to the inconspicuous symptoms.
