Abstract

The governing differential equations in free vibration are built by using Hamilton’s principle for a horizontal spinning beam. The differential quadrature (DQ) method is a numerical solution technique for initial and/or boundary problems. By using the DQ method, the dimensionless natural frequencies at different rotational speeds are obtained for the beams with different boundary conditions. To ensure the accuracy of the present results by the DQ method, comparisons are made with those available in open literature and very good agreements are achieved.
