Abstract

AbstractAn anatomical and histochemical investigation was carried out on the rhizomes of Dryopteris filix-mas (L.) Schott, and of Dryopteris affinis (Lowe) Fr.-Jenk. These rhizomes show considerable differences which permit their identification even without the fronds. As regards the pharmacognos-tic elements the internal glandular hairs are particularly interesting.
