Abstract
We present measurements on the digestive tract of wild birds as related to their body mass and their diets at two Brazilian localities: Ecological Station of Serra das Araras, MT and Pedra do Gavião, AM. Data are still scanty in the literature. In addition, we analyzed seven species of birds with differing diets, we measured and illustrated their digestive tract. When we separated birds that eat vegetables (fruits and seeds) from the ones that do not eat vegetables, we found that the first group presented a higher percentage in the length of the gut, in both localities, confirming earlier findings.
