Abstract

This study used the slow evaporation of solvent technique to create L-histidine glutarate monohydrate (LHGMH) crystals. The LHGMH crystals were characterized by single-crystal XRD, Raman, UV-Visible, second harmonic generation, and dielectric tests. The temperature coefficient of solubility of the sample is positive. The LHGMH crystallized as an orthorhombic structure with the space group P212121. Raman spectroscopy described the sample’s molecular vibrations. The UV-Vis spectra demonstrated the optical transparency of the LHGMH. The bandgap of LHGMH is 5.30 eV. The frequency and temperature-dependent fluctuations of the dielectric value, together with the loss factor, were investigated in the dielectric test.
