Abstract

The dielectric relaxation measurements in the frequency range of 10MHz to 30GHz have been carried out for 2-chloroaniline, 3-chloroaniline, 2-methoxyaniline and 3-methoxyaniline with 1,4-dioxane mixtures over the entire concentration at 25°C using a picosecond time domain reflectometry technique. Dielectric parameters, i. e. static dielectric constant and relaxation time were obtained from the complex permittivity spectra using nonlinear least square fit method. The Kirkwood correlation factor, excess dielectric constant, excess inverse relaxation time and Bruggeman factor parameters have also been determined for chloroaniline and methoxyaniline in 1,4-dioxane mixtures. The contribution of hydrogen bonds to dielectric properties of 2 and 3-chloroaniline and 2 and 3-methoxyaniline with dioxane mixtures has also been studied.
