Abstract

ABSTRACT Complex permittivity spectra for D-sorbitol-water mixtures in the frequency range 10 MHz to 30 GHz have been determined over the entire concentration range using a time domain reflectometry (TDR) method. The complex permittivity spectra have been fitted to the Cole-Davidson relaxation model. The static dielectric constant and relaxation time were calculated from the complex permittivity spectra using the nonlinear least square fit method. The Kirkwood correlation factors were calculated. The theoretical dielectric constant for the mixtures has been calculated using the hydrogen bonding model suggested by Alenka Luzar.
