Abstract

Ferroelectric 0.8Pb(Mg1/3Nb2/3)O3–0.2PbTiO3 ceramics modified by Pb(Mg1/3Ta2/3)O3 (5, 10 and 20 mol%) were prepared by two-stage columbite method. The phase compositions and dielectric properties for these ceramics were investigated. The results showed that pure perovskite phase were obtained for all the specimens, and the ceramic with 10 mol% Pb(Mg1/3Ta2/3)O3 substitution has better dielectric properties (ϵ ∼ 6500 and ϵm ∼ 37000). However, with Pb(Mg1/3Ta2/3)O3 additives increasing, the frequency dispersion is more obvious, and the degree of dielectric relaxor behavior is increasing.
