Abstract

The dielectric constants of aqueous solutions of dextrose and of sucrose prepared from NBS Standard Samples were determined at 20°, 25°, and 30° C for concentrations up to 50 and 60 percent by weight, respectively. A bridge method was used, and the sources of error involved are considered. The results, relative to a selected value for water, are considered to be accurate to 0.05 percent or better and are expressed in terms of an empirical equation for the purposes of interpolation.
