Abstract

This work presents the polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) nanocomposites with conducting MXene nanosheets and semiconducting titanium dioxide (TiO2) fillers fabricated using a solution casting method. The dielectric constant of PVDF/MXene nanocomposites was higher than PVDF/TiO2 nanocomposites, where slightly more loss was associated with the incorporation of conducting MXene filler at a given weight percentage. The obtained dielectric constant is 16.2 at 1 kHz for PVDF/MXene composite films. Scanning electron microscopy and X-ray diffraction were used measurement of the morphology and crystallinity of composite films. In addition, the AC electric field and polarization distribution of both composites were analyzed using COMSOL software, outcomes indicate a good fit of experimental results. This research provides the path for preparing dielectric composites for electronic applications.
