Abstract

In this study, Pb(Mg,W)O3-Pb(Ni,Nb)O3-Pb(Zr,Ti)O3 (abbreviated as PMW-PNN-PZT) ceramics using 0.2 wt% Li2CO3 and 0.25 wt% CaCO3 as sintering aids were synthesized by conventional sintering method as a function of BiFeO3 substitution for haptic piezoelectric actuator and then their dielectric and piezoelectric properties were investigated. At the sintering temperature of 920°C, the density, electromechanical coupling factor (kp), dielectric constant (ϵr) and piezoelectric constant (d33) of 0.75 mol% BiFeO3 substituted specimen showed the optimum values of 7.827 g/cm3, 0.661, 2401 and 597 pC/N, respectively. This results indicate that the 0.75 mol% BiFeO3 substituted Pb(Mg,W)O3-Pb(Ni,Nb)O3-Pb(Zr,Ti)O3 ceramics are promising for piezoelectric haptic actuator application.
