Abstract
Abstract SOCIOLOGY, RESEARCH IN THE CISKEI AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT: The development of Black Communities in South Africa has a challenge for the South African sociologist. This requires an active involvement in research on Community Development and team participation with the people concerned to implement the recommendations. Based upon this notion, this article expounds on research in the Cis-kei undertaken by the Department of Sociology of the University Of Port Elizabeth in collaboration with representatives of various Departments and peoples of the Ciskei.
