Abstract
5-Desoxy-3-C-formyl-fl-L-lyxofuranose trimethylenedithioacetal (C9H160482) crystallizes in space group P21. Lattice parameters are a= 5.634 (1), b= 8.105 (1), c= 12.718 (2) A. and fl= 98-22 (3) °. There is one molecule in the asymmetric unit. The structure was derived by a multi-solution method and tangent-formula refinement. The final R value was 0.0399 based on 514 counter data. The hydrogenbonded molecules form infinite chains parallel to the a axis. The conformation of the furanose ring is 2T3.
