Abstract
The possible illnesses which may or may not have afflicted Adolf Hitler-dictator of Nazi Germany-have in recent years given rise to renewed discussion among the representatives of different medical faculties. Redlich,1 for instance, has suggested that Hitler suffered from temporal arteritis. In support of this claim, he has mentioned such signs and symptoms as headache, disturbance of vision, hypersensitivity in the supraorbital and temporal regions, fever, mild anemia, various cardiac symptoms, and an increased ESR (33 mm/hr). Nevertheless, there are no existing reports of his ever having suffered from polymyalgia rheumatica or experienced pain on chewing, facts to which Redlich also drew attention.
