Abstract
Review: The potential of LC side chain polymers is based on the unique combination of specific polymer properties with the anisotropic physical properties of conventional low molar mass liquid crystals. When dichroic dyes are incorporated as guests into the LC phases their molecular orientation can be controlled forming the basis of the electrooptical effect used for example in displays.magnified image
