Abstract

Abstract Several new N-(8-quinolyl)-substituted diamide compounds were synthesized from α-amino acids and their Cu(II) transport abilities as carriers through liquid membranes were investigated. The Cu(II) transport ability of the carrier is affected by the α-substituent of the amino acid. Diamides derived from alanine and phenylalanine have good Cu(II) transport abilities.
