Abstract

Several new triamide compounds having two 8-quinolyl groups have been synthesized from L-glutamic acid and their Cu(II) transport abilities as carriers through liquid membranes were investigated. It has been found that the Cu(II) transport ability of the carrier is significantly affected by the N-substituent of the 2-amido group. Among of these compounds, 2-acetylamino and 2-n- butyrylamino derivatives show execellent Cu(II) transport ability
