Abstract

Objective To investigate the diagnostic value of three-dimensional color echocardiography combined with left ventricular intraventricular ultrasonography (LVO) in patients with myocardial densification (NVM). Methods A total of 32 patients in hospital with NVM were selected as observation group, all the 32 patients were diagnosed by echocardiography and LVO examination, and 32 healthy subjects in the same period were selected as the control group. Left ventricular function [left ventricular end-systolic volume (ESV), left ventricular end-diastolic volume (EDV), cardiac output (CO), left ventricular stroke volume (SV) and left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF)] and structures changes of the patients in the two groups were compared. Results Three-dimensional color echocardiography results showed that, the ESV, EDV levels of the patients in observation group were higher, CO, SV and LVEF levels of the observation group were lower than those of the control group, the differences were significant (P<0.05); LVO examination showed that the contrast medium filled the ventricles evenly in the two groups; two-dimensional ultrasound showed that thickening muscle trabeculae was filled with left ventricular ultrasound contrast agent, dark crypt images were uisible in the observation group, while the chamber wall of the control group was smooth and continuous, by which ventricinlor cavity could be distinguished esaily; the length of the crypt of the observation group was (4.43±0.65) mm, the width was (2.63±0.42) mm; there was no crypt imaging in the LVO images of the control group; the muscle trabeculae measurements showed that the number, length and width of muscle trabecula were larger and the width length ratio of the trabecular meshwork were smaller in the observation group than those in the control group, the differences were significant (P<0.05). Conclusions Three dimensional color echocardiography combined with LVO in the diagnosis of NVM can fully show the changes of left ventricular function, and can also enhance endocardial development and clearly display intracardiac crypt and trabecular image, provide powerful imaging support for clinical diagnosis of NVM. Key words: Three-dimensional color echocardiography; Left ventricular echocardiography; Myocardial densification
