Abstract
The diagnosis of a compartment syndrome in the upper extremity is made on clinical grounds and confirmed by intracompartmental pressure monitoring. The basic techniques for intracompartmental forearm pressure measurements are the wick and slit catheter techniques. The preferred fasciotomy incision for decomposition of the volar compartment and mobile wad is the curvilinear volar incision.
