Abstract

High-speed serial interface is used in 3G radio base stations to provide deployment flexibility for the mobile network operators. Performance and reliability are always the most crucial issues in nowadays communication systems and concurrent fault detection and diagnosis and recovery are necessary. This paper examines the problem of diagnosing and recovering from processing node failures in 3G radio base station. The advantages and difficulties of high-speed serial interface are introduced and the designs are relied on these features.
