Abstract
Diabetes management in the past decade has seen a rapid integration of technology for both glucose monitoring and insulin administration. Continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) and continuous subcutaneous insulin delivery systems (insulin pumps) have evolved over this time, ultimately leading to automated insulin delivery systems, where an insulin pump delivers variable (automated) insulin doses, guided by a computerized algorithm, which is driven by CGM patterns. Automated insulin delivery system use has been shown to improve glycemic parameters in adults, pregnant women, and children with type 1 diabetes.1-3
