Abstract

Julie Wilkinson's scheduled workshop at the Theatre Writers Union (TWU) Conference on Contracts, 18 March 1989, at the Actors Centre, London, was on the topic of Writer and Theatre in Education. Of the dozens of TWU members present at the conference, only women attended this workshop-as a result the discussion focused on issues of particular importance to women. The publication of this report, based on a transcript of the workshop, was collectively agreed upon by conference participants in an attempt to call international attention to issues involved in contracts for Theatre in Education (TIE), devised work (scripts created in collaboration with actors, teachers, etc.), and for women involved in theatre.
