Abstract

Two different sensitometers are used in the Kodak Research Laboratories for making test exposures on Eastman Embossed Kinescope Recording Film, Type 5209. One of these instruments which is designed to simulate practical color-kinescope recording conditions quite closely, uses an RCA Type 5ZP16 kinescope as the light source. The other, designed for convenience and repeatability of performance, employs filtered light from a photographic “speedlight,” or electronic flash unit. Special features of the sensitometers are discussed, and some test procedures are suggested.
