Abstract
A device for calibration of a dynamic tonometer was developed. The principle of operation of the device is based on measurement of the rigidity of a dynamic system comprising a vibrator and the elastic surface of the eye. The rigidity is determined by monitoring the oscillation period of the system. The rigidity of the cornea is mathematically correlated with eye pressure. A flat spring with given parameters is suggested as a model of corneal rigidity at a given intraocular pressure. The error of determination of the flat spring rigidity was found to be due to imperfect manufacture and the error in measurement of the period of its free oscillation.
