Abstract
A list of 350 words that deviate in pronunciation from the standard English pronunciation of these words has been suggested in the present study. Wordlist based on an observation made over a period of ten years has been suggested along with the transcription of these words according to the British, American, and Pakistani phonetic variants to highlight the unique pronunciation of educated Pakistani speakers of English. The variation may be a result of learning gaps or the influence of their native languages such as Urdu, Punjabi, and Saraiki. The general patterns in the Pakistani pronunciation of these English words have also been suggested. The study may not only help familiarize the global audience with the unique phonetic features of Pakistani English but also make the Pakistani teachers and learners to focus on these words while teaching or learning how to pronounce.
