Abstract
There was a substantial increase in exploratory drilling during 1956 but development drilling remained almost the same. The success ratio reflected this as it was down from 31% to 17% for exploratory wells, but remained nearly the same for development wells. Crude production increased by about 3,500,000 bbls. over 1955.
