Abstract

Exploratory drilling in the Four Corners-Intermountain area was considerably reduced from 1965. Activity was recorded in all major basins of the area, and 2 significant discoveries were made in Utah. These were the Bridger Lake and Indian Ridge discoveries. Development drilling increased in every state but Nevada. The San Juan basin in New Mexico and the Uinta basin in Utah showed the largest increase. Exploratory and development drilling is expected to be equally active in 1967. The north flank of the Uinta Mountains, and the northwest corner of Arizona, particularly, should receive much attention.
