Abstract

This research was research and development which aimed to determine the validity, practicality, and effectiveness of e-modules based on science process skills on the material of hydrocarbon compounds. The research method used the 4D R&D (research and development) model. The subjects used in this study were validators and students. The validators consisted of 2 chemistry education lecturers at the University of Mataram and 1 chemistry teacher at SMAN 1 Aikmel as subjects in the e-module product validity test and instrument validity. While class XII IPA 3 totaled 30 students as subjects on empirical validity and class XI IPA 3 totaled 36 students as subjects on practicality tests and effectiveness tests. The results showed that the validity obtained using the Aiken's V formula was 0.83 including a very valid category with a Percentage of Agreement (R) of 86%. The e-module based on science process skills that has been developed has a practical level with an average percentage value of 80% and is included in the practical category. The effectiveness of the e-module based on science process skills can be seen based on the average N-Gain score obtained during a limited trial which is 0.6 which is included in the medium category with a percentage of 65%. Based on this result, it can be stated that e-modules based on science process skills are quite effective in improving students' science process skills in the material of hydrocarbon compounds.
