Abstract

The article provides peculiarities in organization and development of student self-management at Pavlo Tychyna Uman State Pedagogical University. The forms, methods for implementing student selfmanagement and the interaction of all subjects in the pedagogical process are determined. The peculiarities of the interaction between the administration and student self-management bodies in the context of implementing students’ rights as citizens of Ukraine, the development of their creativity, activity, responsibility, and the ability to solve social, economic and cultural problems are revealed.The educational environment of the university is characterized, which creates opportunities for developing and building a student's personality, in particular, such as: freedom to accept the intending specialist’s decision to get into the educational setting; initiating dialogue with people of different ages and different social groups; selecting different groups, communities and opportunities for their change; getting into the cultural, natural, informational space. The organization of educational work at the university provides an integrated activity of all subjects of educational work: students, student selfgovernment bodies, deputy deans / director of the institute, curators and aims at finding new pedagogical technologies, methods (innovative and traditional) and forms (individual, group and mass), as well as accepting the priority of students’ self-education, individual activities aimed at developing their personal potential.
