Abstract

For the 2010 KSTAR experimental campaign, Thomson scattering (TS) diagnostic system has been newly developed to measure electron temperature and density. The main control application was developed based on EPICS framework like other installed machine control and diagnostic systems in KSTAR. It also included MDSplus interface for experimental data archive. Developed system was used for not only data acquisition but also system controller. This paper shows entire architecture of TS data acquisition system and signal flows from operation sequence's viewpoint. Also, we explain the detail of our basic control framework for diagnostic system, which is composed of the EPICS standard, optional support code and various tools for input output controller (IOC). The TS data analysis is performed in real time during plasma shot and the result is displayed in a strip graphic tool. The implemented framework shows robust performance as a plasma diagnostic system controller.
