Abstract

CERN and Rio Current-mode Amplifier is an amplifier–shaper–discriminator chip, developed in 0.25μm CMOS radiation tolerant technology for the readout of the LHCb muon wire chambers. This paper presents the design and test of three prototype chips, including positive and negative pre-amplifier, differential shaper, differential discriminator and LVDS driver circuits.
