Abstract

In today’s customer oriented global market, Customer Delight emerges as an urging need of any industry to excel in the competition. This study finds Product Variety, Innovative Product and Quick Response to the customer demand, as the essential ingredient of Customer Delight. ‘Just In Time’ which means instantaneous production of perfect quality goods with minimum wastage; seems to encompass all these issues. But the main concern is the implementation of JIT elements to achieve Customer Delight. This paper suggests two JIT Implementation models considering the recent issues of Supply Chain. First a three stage model is developed which correlates Customer Delight with various elements of JIT. The second model is a perpetual model which portraits how to implement these elements in a more structured manner. Collectively the proposed models embrace comprehensive picture of JIT Implementation.
