Abstract

In recent years, prime movers have become increasingly motorized. General speed reducer has been required small sized, highly efficient, low-noise, and lowcost. In this study, we developed speed reducer with small-scale and low-noise by combining traction drive with rolling bearing and epicyclic speed reducer. The developed speed reducer comprises three-step speed reductions. Components 1 and 3 of speed reducer drive of traction with rolling bearings, and component 2 of speed reducer uses an epicyclic speed reducer.We succeeded in downsizing of the reducer by using the oversized preload to preload method for traction drive with rolling bearings. We produce speed reducer experimentally and measured the characteristic. Maximum efficiency and vibration value were 72% and 82dB for TD model (speed reducing component 2 use tracition drive speed reducer) and 74% and 91dB for PG model (speed reducing component 2 use epicyclic speed reducer).
