Abstract
The purpose of the study: to develop and experimentally substantiate the methodology of developing the endurance of track and field athletes at the initial stage of training who specialize in middle-distance running. Participants: 22 track and field athletes (males) aged 11-13 years, who specialize in middle-distance running at the Kharkiv State Secondary School No. 3. Research methods: analysis of literary data, testing of physical fitness, methods of mathematical statistics. Results: a methodology for developing the endurance of young middle-distance track and field athletes has been developed, which combines the use of various running, jumping, game exercises and stretching, and its implementation in the practice of the educational and training process has been substantiated.
