Abstract

This paper presents the results of testing specimens of porous carbon–ceramic composite materials on the high-temperature gas-dynamic plasmatron VGU-4. The structure of carbon–ceramic composite materials of various densities before and after tests has been investigated. It has been shown that the porosity of such a material influences the process of its thermal destruction and ablation in a high-enthalpy gas flow.
