Abstract

Magneto Hydrodynamics (MHD) instability is a main factor in deciding high performance operation of Tokamak devices. The paper studied MHD’s characteristics in the HT-7 Tokamak to analyze the condition, basic structure and some characters of MHD phenomena. According to the structural features of HT-7, a real time MHD control system was developed based on ADLink industrial computer and DAQ2010 data acquisition board. With the aid of a well designed electrode biasing, a real-time intelligent algorithm was designed for MHD suppressing. The structure (hardware and software) designs were described in details in this paper. Experimental results in HT-7 indicate the effectiveness of MHD suppressing with biasing voltage. The research on MHD suppressing with electrode biasing in HT-7 will provide worthy experience for other Tokamak devices.
