Abstract

Students business communication in a foreign language by students at nonlinguistic universities often does not meet accepted norms and standards. The paper provides suggestions about the reasons for these difficulties. We propose a solution in the form of integration of reference schemes into the educational process and their systematic training use at a university training civil defense specialists. The formation of discursive competence based on the use of supporting schemes in a non-linguistic university is possible and effective, but requires special attention to the selection of material on the topic, to the system of exercises and the method of work in practical classes. Particular attention should also be paid to feedback from students: in this study there is experience in adjusting the exercise system in accordance with the characteristics of groups of students.
