Abstract

With the development of robot research, the application range of robot is more and more extensive. However, traditional single-configuration robots can only be used in limited, fixed scenarios. To solve this problem, a large number of scholars began to reconstruct the modular robot system. Traditional modular robotic systems are mostly used in the industrial sector, with very high costs and fewer robot configurations. The self-reconfigurable robot has been studied a lot, and the artificial re-configurable robot system has less research in system development, analysis and methodology. By summarizing predecessors' work, this paper defines the concept of modular robot, classifies the modular robot, and puts forward the modular robot framework and modularization methodology. At the same time, we implement a lightweight, low-cost re-configurable modular robot system, and verify the correctness of the system through experiments.
