Abstract

Metal nanostructure shows a tremendous electromagnetic field confinement in their surrounding vicinity that has shown a wide range of applications in the field of plasmonics. The work presented here discussed the cost-effective and highly sensitive plasmonic sensor using metallic nanograting. The metallic nanograting was fabricated using soft UV-nanoimprint lithography and followed by subsequent gold deposition. The optical reflection spectrum obtained from the sample was studied. The performance of the sensor was tested by measuring bulk refractive index sensitivity by passing different refractive index liquid solutions. Further this study can be extended to sensing the biological molecules.
