Abstract

In this paper, we report the development of a compact microstrip band pass filter at S-band with low insertion loss and high skirt rejection with pass bandwidth of 100MHz. Cross-coupled filter configuration has been adopted, which reduces the order and size compared to conventional microstrip filter. The filter has been designed and simulated using Ansoft HFSS. The same has been fabricated and performance measured. Insertion loss of 1.2dB at 2.05GHz (centre frequency) over 120MHz bandwidth (≈5.85%) and skirt rejection of 35dB at ±125MHz from centre frequency has been demonstrated. Simulated and experimental results are in close agreement. Relevant results are presented.
