Abstract

In recent years, robots have been introduced into related applications in smart homes. However, home robots can move between fixed points in short distance. There have not been good solutions to the movement problem of robot within an interior space. The main reason is the application of robots in smart homes is still in startup stage, so the problems such as spatial positioning and orientation of the indoor environment requires further researches to obtain solutions; to fulfill the requirement of home robots in home applications, enabling smart service robots to arrive the right position through the indoor application service or identify the position of users, this study develops an indoor positioning and path control of smart robots based by adopting iRobot Create 2. In the implementation, we measure and verify every experimental parameter generated by machines to enhance the accuracy of indoor positioning of robots.
