Abstract

A simulator for calculating solidification path and precipitations of nonmetallic inclusions in stainless steels has been developed. In the simulation model, segregation behavior of solute elements during solidification is calculated by the use of Clyne-Kurz treatment coupled by the calculation of equilibrium precipitation of nonmetallic inclusions in steels. Calculated results for solidification path and precipitation behavior of nonmetallic inclusions of an austenitic stainless steel are presented.
