Abstract

A pore model is developed combining discontinuities at the pore wall with continuous streamlines. Through a transformation of coordinates the equation of motion can be solved rigorously while the continuity equation is satisfied. This pore model is called the semisinusoidal pore model. Application of this model to hydrodynamic and electrical transport phenomena shows that the model is in better agreement with the data than models comprising either straight or tortuous circular pores.
