Abstract

A transient, three-dimensional, four-field model is under development to deal with the premixing of large amounts of molten corium falling down in the lower plenum of a PWR. This paper presents the main features of the code, written in as mechanistic a manner as possible, in order to provide best-estimate results. Calculations with a two-dimensional, three-field version of MC3D of two FARO tests are presented.
