Abstract
A new turbine meter is developed to be used as a ventilation rate sensor in agricultural buildings and storage places. Starting from a previous sensor, which was introduced in 1983, several improvements were done to obtain a low cost air flow rate sensor with improved accuracy. The sensor is developed within a measuring range from 200 to 5000 m3/h and this for pressure differences from 0 to 120 Pa, but the principle can be extended to higher ventilation rates and pressure differences. The accuracy of the current sensor is +/- 60 m3/h within the mentioned measuring range. This sensor can be integrated in the climate control equipment of a storage place to improve process control.
