Abstract
During the process of missile development, repetitive or real-time calculation of the six-component aerodynamic coefficients is required. In general, the aerodynamic coefficient evaluation via simulations or experiments demands considerable time and effort. To effectively derive these coefficients, a surrogate model of aerodynamic coefficient data is formulated through statistical methods. However, statistical data modeling is challenging for inexperienced users who are unfamiliar with its theory and process. To overcome the problem involved in constructing a surrogate model with aerodynamic coefficient samples, an application with graphical user interfaces for Gaussian process modeling, i.e., ordinary kriging and co-kriging, is created. The necessary processes for the kriging and co-kriging modeling are first organized; then, user-friendly interfaces that can support the effortless formulation of ordinary kriging and co-kriging models are implemented. To demonstrate the utility of the Gaussian process modeling software, a few examples with real-world aerodynamic coefficient datasets are presented.
